Kevin was already a Freemason and in the late 1980s he had the idea of forming a Lodge for members of the House, that would normally meet in London to accommodate especially those members of the House who worked in or near London.

The object of the Lodge was to bring members of the House together, of all ages and all avocations, in a Masonic environment in which members would enjoy each others company whilst performing Masonic ceremonies and then dining together. It could be seen as a dining-cum-discussion club upon which English Freemasonry was originally modelled on in the seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries.
